INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS

750,000 MEMBERS       RESPECTED WORLDWIDE

|

Dear Fellow Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician,

Recently, many current and former electrical workers at nonunion contracting companies have asked the IBEW if we'd be willing to help their employer become a better contractor and a better place to work.

We consider the relationship with our contractors as a partnership. We work together to provide a world-class education to our apprentices, focus on workplace safety, ensure workplace efficiency, and provide future opportunities.

This enables our contractors to be highly competitive in the marketplace while providing industry-leading wages and benefits to our members.

We hope that nonunion electrical contractors understand that we are looking to partner with them for the mutual benefit of the company and the electrical workers.

In discussing the situation at many nonunion shops with current and former electrical workers, we found that training, safety, wages, and benefits are all lacking. Together, we can fix this!

We want to provide your contractor and its electrical workers access to our training programs, wages, and benefits. At the same time, we will help your contrator grow and become a dominant force in the electrical contracting industry.

If you would like more information, or if you want to know how you can help improve working conditions at your contractor, please contact one of the IBEW members listed below, or connect with us on Facebook.

In Solidarity,

Your friends at IBEW

Why Work With Us?

The goals of the IBEW have been the same since its founding in 1891:

  • Promote reasonable methods of work;

  • Cultivate feelings of friendship among those of our industry;

  • Settle all disputes between employers and employees by arbitration, if possible;

  • Assist each other in sickness or distress;

  • Secure employment;

  • Reduce the hours of daily labor;

  • Secure adequate pay for our work;

  • Seek a higher and higher standard of living;

  • Seek security for the individual.

Our members know the benefits. Most non-union workers don’t even have the benefit of health insurance anymore. If they do, the premium usually gets deducted from their weekly paycheck.

Organizing into a union with collective bargaining rights will ensure you have a voice in your workplace and your future. In the union, we all work together to attain better pay, health insurance for you and your family, and a pension that enables you to retire with dignity.
